A night you’ll never regret.
Fast weight loss.
How many of you have fallen victim to the words above only to fall flat on your face when quick began to slow down, instant became non-existent, a night your never regret becomes a night you do regret and fast becomes slow.
Hand raised. I am sure all could agree that our flesh has at some point in time won the battle of wanting instant gratification. That’s the world we live in today.
You text someone and you want a response back right away.
You start a new way of l living and you want to see results the next day.
You meet someone and think you should have sex right away to prove that instantly.
Oh, dear friend, can we just slow down, close our eyes, and lift our heads and hands and say I am free?
Free from the quick, instant, and fast.
Free from the shame, guilt, and condemnation.
Free from our past.
A question I want you to ask yourself (brace yourself, it’s a tough one) is, “Have you really received what Jesus did on the cross for you?” A question I have asked myself many times lately when my flesh begins to rage its war against the Truth of His word.
Do I know, understand, and receive what He did for me on that cross?
Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 11:14, “Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” All that instant gratification must be checked at the door. Is it our flesh (or Satan disguising himself) to appear as something good? That’s all in the moment enjoyment and not long-term reward.
Let’s go back to the most important question here. Do you know, understand and receive in your heart what Jesus did for you on that cross? And if you say yes, does your life reflect that now? Do your words reflect that now? Do your actions reflect that now?
Friend, those are some tough questions to ask but good questions to ask to get you to dive deeper into relationship with Him. When you allow yourself to go there with Him it won’t be about instant anything anymore but I am free from all the things the world tries to tell me is good.
