I Hate Mondays
How many times have you said that phrase to yourself? I have probably said it a time or two myself over the years. Especially when I worked in retail. My time was always consumed by someones clock. I was always on a time frame with everything. There was barely any room in my schedule to breath or sleep let alone work on my dream job.
If you find yourself feeling like this from time to time you are not alone. I want to reassure you that the feelings you have a pretty normal. The only thing though, is I don’t want you to feel this way forever. I know, I get it, you have probably already given up at this point in doing anything that you love to do simply because thinking about planning time for it simply stresses you out. Let me say this again, been there done that.
Business is something that is a huge part of my life. I don’t talk about it a lot but it is something that excites me. I get emails coming in daily asking questions on how to be successful, how to start and so on.
Everyone has their own calling. Too many times we are trying to make ourselves fit into someone elses life that we lose focus of our own. Mainly because we are searching for the thing that makes us tick. You see, one person can be successful in this business so you want to try it to. Then that repeats itself over and over again. Every time you try something new and quit you probably feel more and more lost.
When I joined as a Beachbody Coach almost 4 years ago to the day I really didn’t know my life would evolve into what it has. Here’s the thing, I was so sick of my retail management job because of the hours. I hated working every single weekend during the holiday season just to live paycheck to paycheck. Sound familiar? So, when Jenelle Summers talked to me about this business opportunity I went for it. Here’s why. I could work when I wanted to work on it. I wasn’t required to hold product, ship product, meet all kinds of sales requirements. Whew, stress relief right there for me. When I was working in retail there was barely time for anything. I picked up a second job then a third job. I worked at a golf course pro shop and then taught as many fitness classes that I could in a week that went around my retail job’s schedule. The pro shop would come into play right after I would have already worked my full day at my other job. When the opportunity came up then about coaching and being able to work on it when I wanted to work on it. It seemed like a no brainer to me.
As time went on I developed a love for business in general. I love fitness, of course, but I also love being able to create some of my own products. God has blessed me with situations, problems and triumphs that I am now able to put to use and inspires thousands of people with. This worked for me. It fits my personality. I knew when I was working in retail that this wasn’t going to be my life. I could feel it deep down inside.
I am not saying you need to join as a coach just like I did. What I am saying is, find what works for you, something you love, and make it work around your schedule. Know that every little bit that you work on it counts. No matter how much you get done or don’t get done in one day it is all adding up. Most people don’t view the whole picture. They view what is in front of them. No wonder so many people want to just throw in the towel. If the only thing I ever focused on all the time was what was in front of me I would never be where I am today. I visualized everyday what I wanted my life to look like. I spoke about it constantly and never let anyone shatter my dreams. I still continue to do so to this day.
I just want to end with you dreaming again. I want you to know that you don’t have the dread Mondays every single week for the rest of your life. You can make things happen. You have to make time for them but also believe in yourself enough to know that you deserve it too.
Cheers to dreams,
