Cheated On and Bruised
Have you ever felt like you were working so hard for a promotion but the Sassy Sally girl next to you got it? You may have felt cheated out of the position because you feel like you worked so hard for it. How about this one. You feel like you have been perfect with your diet. You have been exercising regularly but well of course that dang scale shows nothing. HEY, at least your clothes fit differently. You probably are left bruised and felt cheated because you did everything you could to see the scale move. What about the friend, family member, significant other who you thought you could trust betrayed you in some way. Who may have lied to you many times or made you just feel unimportant.
Before I get into this more I wanted to open up with this scripture that I am in love with lately.
1 John 2:26-27
The Message (MSG)
“I’ve written to warn you about those who are trying to deceive you. But they’re no match for what is embedded deeply within you—Christ’s anointing, no less! You don’t need any of their so-called teaching. Christ’s anointing teaches you the truth on everything you need to know about yourself and him, uncontaminated by a single lie. Live deeply in what you were taught.”
I can understand how the last thing you want to think about when you are angry or upset is how can I learn and grow from this. You kind of want to slap people when they start to quote and preach to you when inside all you want is someone to listen. If we are being honest and also agree with us. Whether or not you got the promotion, lost the weight or was betrayed by someone you trusted so deeply it all has a purpose. Look, I know that sucks to read right now. Especially if you are hurting. Just hang in there with me. Your pain has a purpose. Your pain can change you and make you better. Key thing is though, if you allow it.
The scripture above tells me I have everything I need inside of me to live in this world. I have God’s anointing on my life and so do you. Everything I need to know about myself is in Him. I don’t have to feel stupid for not getting a promotion. I don’t have to feel worthless or ugly for not losing the weight like I expected. I don’t have to believe the lies that are spoken to me from the relationships I have in my life.
We have to remember that through this all God sees the big picture. If there is one piece of advice I can give you it is to KEEP GOING. Yep, keep going. Don’t let the enemy defeat you. Don’t let other people continue to bring you down. Don’t let people try to steal your happiness. It is easy to type but oh so hard to actual do. This is where I encourage you to reach out to other people for accountability and support. If you don’t have friends or family you feel comfortable with go to your church or see a counselor.
When we feel cheated on it life we are left bruised. Typically, it takes longer to heal than the amount of time it took to even happen to you. The point is to ask God how you will be able to use your situation for His good. This pain you are dealing with could open eyes to hundreds of people This situation you are going through could inspire someone to do something they never thought they could. Not losing this weight could make you research it more and in return help hundreds of others lose it too.
You can be a victim or a victor.
Dive deep into everything God has to say about you and life. That is truth. All the other stuff that produces death in your life is from the enemy. The more we learn to distinguish them the more we set ourselves free.
When you are walking in betrayal, lies and hurt, no matter the kind, you have to remind yourself that it is temporary. I believe in each and everyone of you reading this. I don’t want you to be a victim any more. You are so much stronger than you could ever imagine.
God will always show you the truth in a mix of lies. ALWAYS. He is faithful. He loves you! Press into Him today.
I believe in you,
